‘Beside Herself’ representa el trabajo en conjunto de las artistas con sede en Toronto,
Carolyn Self y Alda Escareño. "Estamos unidas por una compulsión común para crear objetos
impresos artesanalmente". Su trabajo abarca desde las tradicionales ediciones impresas de
los objetos de arte interactivo y piezas de vestir. Exhortando a la impresión y la elaboración de las tradiciones, cuestionan la forma artesanal de imitar la producción en masa. En su trabajo, los temas conceptuales de la multiplicidad y la repetición inherente en la obra gráfica, se entretejen con colores seductores, las texturas, el humor y las imágenes oníricas.

Their work ranges from traditional printed editions to interactive art objects and wearable pieces.
Calling upon both printing and crafting traditions, they challenge the handmade form to mimic mass production. In their work, conceptual themes of multiplicity and repetition inherent in printmaking,
interweave themselves with seductive colours, textures, humour and dreamlike imagery.
